What is T-shirts Aid JAPAN ?
It is a project intended to send our warm hearts to the victims of this tragedy, by wearing T-shirts designed by popular
artists around the world. They have contributed artworks for this special purpose. To support an early recovery,
part of the proceeds will be donated to the local governments of disaster-affected prefectures.

Our contribution of 82,800 yen was sent to "Koi Art Nobori" project (http://wa-art.com/), one of the aid projects of BGFund
(G/Art, B/Bunka(culture) and F/Fund)(http://arts-fukkou.blogspot.com/), founded by the Association for Corporate Support of the Arts.

Born in 1976, Natsko grew up in Tokyo, studied illustration in Brighton, and made her way to London where she now works on an increasing number of worldwide commissions. Inspired by architecture, and fashion from different ages and cultures, Natsko enjoys applying her friends and family members into her illustrations by collaging photos from her old family albums and her own photographs. She believes they are the crucial part of her practice; that her timeless illustrations become personal and have a meaning.

That sort of attitude is shared in Portland and which is why I'm so happy to be based here, and In Portland we have a motto that says "Keep Portland Weird" to Japan I say " Keep Japan quirky" No matter what. Best of luck in your efforts to rebuild and my sincerest sympathies to those who lost homes and loved ones in the wake of this terrible tragedy.

  We keep on following the evolution of the situation and we are all witness of your courage and willpower and how you, as nation, are a close-knit family. We look up to you and we would like to be like you.

With our small contribute to this project we know we are just a drop in an endless ocean, but, here in Italy, there is byword: “la goccia scava la pietra”, that means “the drop cut into the stone”...   On the day when the earthquake occurred, I lost words to see the footage of the devastating Tsunami. We all worry about radiation now. People who had to evacuate by leaving their pets and animals, just like their family members, or others who are still left with their familly member animals. Or people who are producing food like fruits, vegetables and rice, or those who used to fish. While it is heart-breaking to think of those poeple, a large numbe of mothers who are raising their babies are so worried about the food safety. Wishing for an early recovery, and wearing these T-shirts will remind us of our own new way of life.

Out precious resources are not a convenient nuclear power, but keeping crisp air, water, green mountains and animals, for the next generation. I believe that this tragedy of earthquake and nuclear plant will give us another energy to strongly face other possible disasters, and make a new Japan where we can coexist with the nature.
