As an artist, I have always been inspired by the art and culture of Japan and kept an eye on what goes on there. So it has made me very sad and worried to watch the country go through the recent terrible tragedy. How can a person, a family, a town, or a country recover from such destruction? And yet they can and do, through the sheer power of the human spirit. I send you my heartfelt wishes for your speediest recovery in the areas hit by the earthquake and tsunami, and for the healing of the whole nation's hearts and minds.
